Andrew T. Bennett is a small business owner, investor, and real estate professional who is committed to making his community a better place to live and work. As a Westbury, New York native, Andrew moved to Greenville, North Carolina in 2007 to pursue graduate studies at East Carolina University. During that time, he struggled to find housing options that were close to campus, secure, and well-maintained. Upon completion of his degrees, he co-founded a property rental company that focuses on providing affordable and safe off-campus housing accommodations for college students and young professionals. He strives to keep costs low, while giving renters clean, fresh, and modernized spaces to call home. Andrew knows firsthand that having a convenient and comfortable place to live will enhance the work and studies of renters. He founded A.T. Bennett Construction, LLC as a way to renovate and remodel his own properties, along with others. As a North Carolina licensed real estate agent and broker with Haystack Realty Group, Andrew specializes in helping buyers interested in investment properties and first-time home buyers.
Andrew is a double graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He earned a doctorate in Coastal Resources Management in 2013 and a master's degree in Geography with a concentration in Regional Planning in 2009. He attended the University of Connecticut for undergraduate education where he received a degree in Urban and Community Studies in 2007. Andrew uses his academic expertise as an adjunct professor at East Carolina University and Barton College.
Passionate about his community, Andrew enjoys volunteering and supporting various local organizations. He uses his land use, property, and construction knowledge as a member of the Grounds Committee for the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina. He conducts facility visits as necessary to support the cats and dogs in its care. Over the years, he's also supported nonprofits including Young Professionals of Pitt County, Riley's Army, American Cancer Society, Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, Greenville Museum of Art, Boy Scouts of America, and many others. He and his wife, Maria, live in Greenville with their two mixed-breed dogs.
